language of Lowe’s corporate brand. Make it in line with updated consumer brand, but also differenciate, targeting coporate audiences.&nbsp; Unify five different Lowe’s websites under the umbrella of cohesive branding and user expericence of Lowe’s corporate domain.Improve experience for Lowe’s corporate audiences, by addressing existing usability issues.&nbsp; Streamline workflow for Lowe’s digital teams. Make frequent updates and addition of new sections easy and mistake-proof. Solution: Create a single “source of truth” for visual and interactive styles in a comprehensive and flexible design system, that will suffice all Lowe’s teams and accomodate all types of content, current and future.&nbsp;Provide Lowe’s teams with user-friendly CMS and online modular library for easy access to site’s components, rules and guidelines.&nbsp; Process: Multiple in-person workshops were conducted at Lowe’s headquarters in North Carolina. The topics included: branding, what we have an how to differenciate a corporate brand, visual language, photography. Multiple rounds of interviews were conducted with key stakeholders from all involved teams to observe their workflow and understand their goals, needs and painpoints. My role: I led the design and oversaw development of the design system. At the beginning of the project I collaborated with a remote, London based team of two: Lucey Harley, director of creative content, and Simon Gittings, the creative director of Investis Digital UK. Since then, I was an accounted art director for this client and led the site through a number of major and manor updates, design and structural changes, additions of new sections, tools and feeds, etc. Here I feature two prjects that reshaped ELC’s online presence, turning it from a local US website into a global multilingual online platform for engaging with international audiences and attracting talent all over the world. ELC Globalization Project1 Challenge: As a global company, ELC faced the need to serve their growing online audiences across the globe, providing relevant information on local language, attract domestic talent and promote local initiatives. The initial Estée Lauder Companies website was built to serve US users only. The stale templated design and backend functionality didn’t provide an opportunity to localize content. Solution: Redesign and rebuild the website of reusable components, instead of page templatesEmbed geolocation functionality and allow users to change region and/or languageProvide international teams with an ability to update specific content based on their location (localize) using Investis CMS Process: After the series of stakeholder interviews we defined the main content areas that had to be localized and those that remained global. I analyzed the site's content and defined a list of components for a seamless website rebuild. I put together a modular library and assigned specific modules to the local and global content. ELC Careers2 Challenge: The main challenge for the ELC careers department was to provide relevant job opportunities for candidates available at their locations. The job search and application process had to be streamlined. The big pain point was to clearly differentiate retail and corporate jobs, as well as jobs availbale for numerous&nbsp;Estée Lauder brands. Process: In a collaboration with a strategist, we performed a user testing of the ELC careers section, deifinig the challenges users experiencied while searching for jobs. The top pain points were: no way to search by location, lack of simple keyword search and misunderstanding of specific roles. Solution: Add a keyword search. The final solution included keyword and location search fileds within a top nav. The fields bar remains sticky. IFF Megaplatform Redesign &amp; Design System1 In 2019 IFF acquired their major competitors and went through a global rebranding, implemented by a Denver branding agency Monigle. This prompted an urgent need to redesign and rebuild an old website. Challenge: The old IFF website had a templated design and navigation that didn’t accomodate for deeper levels. They needed a scalable platform, that would allow to expand their constantly growing portfolio of markets and products, showcase environmental and social initiatives and attract and inspire talent. Due to a tight timeline, design and build had to happen in parallel with content creation. Solution: Flexible design system with a comprehensive library of reusable components, easily accesible via CMS. Process: After the series of interviews with a client, content team and a branding agency, we defined a basic component library. New branding was applied and the design system was ready for build. Once the final content was available, we had to modify and add a few new modules, but it didn’t affect the timeline dramatically. I put together over 70 pages, using the design system and content, provided by client. The rest of the pages were were implemented by IFF’s team.&nbsp; My role: I led design and oversaw build of the project from start to an end. IFF India E-commerce UX Review2 Challenge: Iff has multiple websites all over the world. One of them, the IFF India e-commerce site, failed to perform its main task – sell flavor ingredients and provide free samples to potential clients. Users added ingredients to the cart, but rarely finalized their purchases.&nbsp; Process: After reviewing a mobile website, I suspected a number of serious UX issues. I initiated user testing with five users and asked them to perform a simple task – order a Pinapple Royale flavor. After the testing, patterns were obvious. There were multiple issues, but the main three didn’t let customer to make a purchase:&nbsp; Input stepper autmatically added product to cart, when users added a number of products they wanted to buy. All five users didn’t realize that.&nbsp;“Place order” tab was mixed up with a button. All users tried to tap it, but as it was irresponsive (it’s a tab!), so they thought it simply doesn’t work.After the product selection, there was no way to approve/confirm the order. Users were provided with a “continue to shop” and “order summary” buttons, that weren’t helpful (only one user eventually tapped order summary, and was surprised to see their products in a cart.) Intuitively, they tried to tap “place order” tab. Solution: Fix the user flow by replacing “continue to shop” and “order summary” CTAs by “add to cart” and a confirmation popup with options to “keep shopping” and “view cart”.&nbsp; Elliminate “place order” tab. Instead of separating these two actions into tabs, I laid them out on one page.A number of other improvements were made, but these two were the main obstacles. IFF Fragrance Ingredients Database&nbsp; The IFF interactive database is a tool designed to help potential customers identify appropriate ingredients for their purposes, and request samples. It is built with an assortment of filter, search, and sort functions, and provides downloadable ingredient sheets for customer reference. The previous version was also designed by me a few years ago. At that time, I redesigned the initial version of the database, setting a foundation that performed well through the years. The very first version had a confusing, busy interface. Each filter opened in a separate dropdown, forcing user to make enormous amount of clicks. I came up with a solution utilizing a unified multi-select filter. The tool was a huge success among IFF’s customers. It performed well and didn’t have to be dramatiaclly redesigned.Challenge: During this projects, my goal was to refresh a visual design, along with a global site update, and do some updates to the tool’s filter. The main update was addition of sustainability section, which is company’s global priority at the moment. The section included two variables: renewability (renewable/not renewable) and biodegradability (five stages.) These parameters had to stand out. Solution: I created a leaf icon for renewable ingredients. The icon appeared in the filter and next to an ingredient name on the list. As for the biodegradability, I came up with a wheel icon, that visually demonstrates a level of biodegradability. The appropriate icon was assigned to each ingredient. The use of icons made it easy to define how sustainable each ingredient is without opening the full ingredient specs. Due to internal reasons, the intermediate iframed version of the tool was pushed live during the site redesign phase. The final version is scheduled to launch later on.&nbsp;My role: I led the design and oversaw development of this project, collaborating with a remote team of developers in Vadodara, India. Site Redesign Challenge: Annaly wanted to find a better way to communicate their strategy to the market, while also integrating their company’s values into the overall narrative. They wanted to be perceived as a global and progressive company, whereas the old design was primarily focused on their rich Irelandic heritage. The wesite had to meet WSAG 2 AAA level compliance. Solution &amp; process: Annaly’s mission and values are based on the 3 P’s: Power, Proven, and People. In order to convey this in design, I ran two workshops with Annaly’s team. The first one was aimed to define imagery, that would effectively communicate each of three pillars. On the second workshop, we reviewed a number of website layouts and voted for elements, that would help Annaly to appear as a global, progressive and dynamic company. The workshop findings helped me to shape a design concept, that was quickly approved by Annaly’s team and well received by the audience. Next year, the new Revlon faced a need to redesign their corporate website, in order to tell their revisited story and highlight their extended portfolio of brands. They announced a pitch among leading creative agencies of NYC. Revlon &amp; Elizabeth Arden Corporate Site Redesign Challenge: Upon a merger of the brands and their portfolios, Revlon and Elizabeth Arden were seen by their stakeholders as equally siginificant. Neither wanted to give up their authenticity for a new company's site aesthetics, so the design had to be neutral and representational for both brands at the same time. Another challenge was to introduce a full portfolio of brands, but distinquish Revlon and Elizabeth Arden as the main ones.&nbsp; Solution: A clean and neutral UI design, that incorporates elements of both brands. I borrowed a thin-line rectangles that appear in the Elizabeth Arden logo and used it as a main stylistic element throughout the site. I used two main fonts of Revlon and Elizabeth Arden and a red color, that is common for both brands. The mix of color and black &amp; white images and muted illustrations helped to highlight the synergy between iconic brands. Process: Visual design and overall stylistic was the primary concern of the Revlon team, so the process started with a presentation of 3 different directions via moodboards, that contained photography, illustration, UI and typography snippets, and represented a different percentage of color use (only black, white and red colors were suggested.) After the direction was approved, I worked on the different approaches to promote main brands in a single video, ran a experimental photoshoot and sketched fashion illustrations (yes, I often serve as a one man band.) Once the direction was set, I finalized design, based on wireframes, created by UX designer.&nbsp;My role: I ran a design part of the pitch process, with a help of summer intern. I led the design and oversaw development of this website, later on. where Clinique was one of the main clients. I did a variety of work for them, from web banners and emails to marketing apps. iPad App for Macy’s Challenge: Clinique needed to promote their new makep sets – Sexy Neutrals. They wanted customers to try and buy the sets at their flagship NYC location in Macy’s on Herlad Square. &nbsp; Solution: A simple app that will attract visitors with a flashy video, offering to choose a Sexy Neutral look for any skin tone. Upon a tap, customer could choose their skin tone and view the respective video tutorial on the Sexy Neutrals application. Each video was split on 6 steps, showing application of 6 makeup products.
